Weddings are often the most highly anticipated event in a young woman's life; no other social affair elicits as much passion, anxiety and attention to
detail. With more than 22 years as a wedding consultant, Carol Rosen, of Los Angeles is a respected industry leader. She feels the process of planning a
wedding serves a dual process. While the engaged couple works this through, they are also beginning to create the new family unit that will be theirs apart.
According to Carol, the two most pivotal elements of any wonderful wedding are the music and the photography/videography. The quality of the music will
directly influence how much fun you and your guests will have and the photographs or video will ensure that you can re-visit that wonderful day in future
years. Spend careful time interviewing the professionals that will provide these two services. This might be a place to splurge...
Your Wedding Day is one of the most significant days of your life. It is the one day that you dream of from the
time you are a child and when it arrives you want to be sure that everything is as close to your special vision as possible.
Some brides like to plan every aspect of their day while others do their best to find qualified vendors, discuss their needs
and then leave the details up to the professionals. Either way you will invest a lot of time and a great deal of money hoping
that your dream turns out the way you want it to. Your Wedding Day will always be etched in everyone’s mind so no one
can blame you if you insist that everything goes the way you want it.

Wedding Etiquette For Second Time Brides

In the past, it was unheard of to plan a reception for a second marriage and most couples either chose to elope or have a small
ceremony and dinner afterwards, inviting only a few close friends & family. But times have changed & so have the rules for
what is considered acceptable when getting hitched a second time. While some couples still choose to elope or have a small
affair, others go for a more elaborate reception, even having their children participate in the ceremony. According to Wedding
consultant Denise Walpole, the growing trend seems to be couples tailoring their second, third and even fourth weddings to
what works for them. So, whatever you decide, there's no right or wrong way to celebrate. But, remember, what is
comfortable for one couple may not be for another. Thats why its particularly important to consider your preferences as a
couple, factoring in personalities, religion, finances, family customs and life situations when planning a second wedding.
To guide you, here are some of Walpole's "Encore Wedding Etiquette Tips."

  • Anything goes as far as a ceremony and/or reception. Keep it small and simple, or make it big. Either way, works
today. The key is making everyone feel comfortable.
  • A bride who has been married previously can choose the wardrobe and flowers of her choice. While a white gown no
longer symbolizes purity, many encore brides are opting for color gowns and/or accessories. Many choose not to wear
the blusher veil which, traditionally, symbolized virginity. Orange blossoms symbolize first time brides, so encore brides
may choose not tom use them in their bouquets (but its perfectly acceptable if they do).
  • Encore brides can be given away by a father, a brother, or even a friend. Or, a second-time bride may choose to walk
    down the isle by herself.
  • Typically, the bride and groom host their own affair, but it is equally common for the parents of both the bride and
groom to offer some financial support. However, such help shouldn't be expected if the parents contributed to the first
    wedding.
All in all, their are no strict rules to follow for second marriages - only you and your fiancé can decide what's right for you.
